The directions to put this desk together were frustrating already then I came to find out that I was missing important metal inserts for the head cap bolts to tighten. In addition, the drawer base boards were missing from the box as well. I called customer service at homestyle designs. This took several calls to get them to ship the missing parts and they refused to overnight. So bascially I'm w/out a desk for over a week. This desk is beatiful. It was a little tough and time consuming to put together but well worth it. We have purchased two other "cheaper" desks in the last three years and should have bought this one from the beginning. It is solid and sturdy. We did have an issue with the keyboard splitting when screwing in the screws but the company sent us a replacement with no questions, no hassles, and no extra cost. First off, let me say that the end product itself would look nice if everything went as expected. But as it turns out, it didn't for me. In the finished product, the top two drawers on either side do not fit all the way in, and there is only one correct way you can put it together, so the parts themselves are to blame. There is also the problem of a part being loose, which I plan to glue into place.Pros: It's a very sturdy desk. Looks nice until you examine the drawers. A couple of extra screws provided, in case you lose some, but it'd be wise to have some on hand just in case. After explaining the problem, they sent replacement parts. Therefore I've updated the rating from 2 stars to 4. Cons: Vague instructions which will force you to figure it out on your own. Parts not properly fitting. Time consuming and frustrating (because of the instructions lacking detail, but it's enough to warrant it being listed as well). Needs... Read more |
